WHO WE ARE
AGBFoodistribution was founded by Alexandra Gabriela Brito Fontana, a Venezuelan entrepreneur, driven by a strong desire to spread the flavors of international cuisines to new places, starting with the Venezuelan cuisine, her origins. She discovered her passion for food and gastronomy while traveling the world. Alexandra, having lived in different places in the world, from Caracas to Washington, from London to Rome and from Tirana to Naples, has immersed herself in a wide range of culinary experiences: from abundant and mixed flavors, to fast-food, to gourmet and fusion cuisines, from asian to Mediterranean cuisine. Although it was the flavors of her native South American cuisine that made her take her first steps, today her vision is to share with each of you new tastes and culinary experiences never tried before.

OUR PRODUCTS

TEQUEÑOS
A tequeño is a delicious cheese-filled stick that is very popular in Venezuela. To prepare it, flour dough is wrapped around a roll of cheese to form a stick that can be fried in oil, baked in the oven or even prepared in the air fryer. While the original tequeños are filled with just cheese, AGBFooDistribution offers the fusion option, offering sweet tequeños filled with Nutella or Kinder.

Tequeños have a crunchy exterior that reveals a sweet or savory flavour, depending on the chosen filling. It can be eaten for breakfast, as an appetizer, as a snack or even as an aperitif during parties and or weddings. On April 21, 2023, it was declared a cultural heritage of Venezuela.

Tequeños are handmade, in an absolutely artisanal way. In fact, each tequeño is unique in flavor and shape.

VENEZUELAN EMPANADAS
An empanada is a cornmeal turnover filled with a filling that is then fried. The name comes from the Spanish "empanar" (to coat in flour), and translates as "breaded", meaning wrapped or covered in flour. The folded dough, shaped like a half moon, is stuffed with a filling that may consist of meat, cheese or other ingredients.

Venezuelan empanadas are part of the typical food of Venezuelan gastronomy. The empanada dough is not thick, but not too thin either. It has the perfect thickness to express its delicious flavor and, at the same time, contain the different ingredients with which it is stuffed. The turnovers are fried to guarantee an explosion of flavor for all who eat them. The most popular fillings are “carne molida” (minced meat) or “carne mechada" (shredded, boiled meat) and cheese.

ARGENTINE EMPANADAS
Unlike the Venezuelan empanada, the dough of the Argentine empanada is made of wheat. Also, the Argentine empanada is prepared differently, with a different closing (“crimped") that leaves a more evident edge than the Venezuelan one. The Argentine empanada is also fried in boiling oil. The types of filling depend on the region. For example, in Buenos Aires, empanadas are larger than the traditional ones and the basic fillings are beef, chicken, vegetables, ham and cheese. In other provinces, however, there are empanadas stuffed with picana. Argentine empanadas are often served during parties or festivals as an appetizer or main course.

AREPAS
The arepa is a symbol of Venezuelan gastronomy and one of the most common pre-Hispanic foods still enjoyed in Venezuela. Arepa comes from the indigenous term Erepa, which means corn. Arepa is a corn flatbread made from pre-cooked corn flour and is served with a variety of toppings to complement it. Traditionally they were prepared in a pan called a “budare”. However, they can also be grilled, fried or baked. Arepas are gluten-free.

This Venezuelan staple can be enjoyed plain, as a side dish, or stuffed with meat, cheese or almost anything you want!

MEATS
Our meats can be used as a filling for some typical Venezuelan products (arepa, empanada, etc.) or it can be enjoyed individually in a single dish rich in proteins.
We offer different types of meats: from “mechada” (shredded) or “molida” (minced) to strips of pork or chicken. The meats are often enriched with vegetables, aromatic herbs and spices.

OUR MISSION
It's true, imagining a world without the global spread of iconic dishes like pizza highlights how important cultural exchange through food really is. AGBFooDistribution's mission seems aligned with this vision, bringing Venezuelan culinary heritage, such as tequeños, arepas, and empanadas, to places where these delights have yet to arrive. Every culture has dishes that tell stories and create connections between people, and the fusion of Venezuelan flavors with Italian influences, as seen in the sweet tequeño with Nutella, perfectly represents this union. It's fascinating how these unique food experiences can open new worlds for those who have never tasted them.
AGBFooDistribution is helping make the world a little less sad and a lot more delicious!
